Nella elaborazione delle sue ventennali osservazioni cliniche, sulle quali soprattutto si fonda la definizione e la descrizione degli otto tipi psicologici principali da lui enucleati, egli integra la scoperta della realtà dell'inconscio, costituendo così la sua tipologia come psicodinamica, nel senso che la psiche individuale è vista ed esplorata nel rapporto dialettico di conscio e inconscio; e teorizza la presa di coscienza come progressivo superamento delle opposizioni in un processo di crescente equilibrio, che chiama di individuazione,concetto questo che costituirà poi sempre un cardine della sua opera. Né la ricerca si confina all'elaborazione della sola esperienza psicoterapeutica. Secondo un modo di esposizione a lui proprio, Jung inserisce nella riflessione sui casi individuali larghi riferimenti storici, densissimi e illuminanti, che non testimoniano soltanto della sua sterminata cultura, ma indicano, al fondo delle sue teorie, la coscienza dell'inseparabilità dei problemi del singolo dai problemi collettivi.Del volume fa anche parte un utilissimo glossario, in cui Jung ha raccolto definizioni e concetti propri al suo linguaggio.

I was pleasantly surprised. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Good, but not quite perfect. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. Not bad at all.

It was just alright. Some parts were interesting, while others were a bit of a slog to get through. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.
