Overview: Mother Mary Cecilia Bailly knew Saint Mother Theodore Guerin well, from the time Bailly joined the Sisters of Providence in 1841 to Mother Theodore's death in 1856. Bailly's unfinished biography of Guerin, the congregation's foundress, is published here as a transcription of her manuscript, complete with footnotes delineating the marginalia and corrections of the author. From the front matter:"The original was written on ordinary ruled paper 7 7/8 by 10 inches. The main part of the manuscript is in Mother Mary Cecilia's own handwriting, but pages which evidently had been worn out or damaged have been re-copied in other handwriting. This change in handwriting is indicated wherever it occurs."

I liked it for the most part. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. A solid 4 stars from me.

It was okay. It felt a bit repetitive in the middle. Could have been shorter. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.

A solid read. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.
