Overview: În condiţiile inexistenţei statisticilor oficiale sau private referitoare la duelurile din România, monografia se bazează pe sistematizarea şi interpretarea, pentru prima oară în istoriografia românească, a aproximativ 750 de „afaceri de onoare”, survenite între anii 1859 şi 1914. Urmărind itemi legaţi de apartenenţa socială şi ocupaţia profesională, motivaţii şi efecte, datele sunt grupate pe decenii, încadrate unor limite cronologice cu semnificaţie istorică. I was pleasantly surprised. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

I liked it for the most part. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. Still a good book.
