Overview: Covington, Kentucky, Northern Kentucky's largest city, is located at the confluence of the Ohio and Licking Rivers, directly across from Cincinnati. Within a few years of the city's founding in 1815, the steamboat had generated much prosperity in the region and attracted an influx of German immigrants who brought with them their religion and customs. By the mid-1800s these immigrants had made a permanent home in what was referred to as "America's Rhine Valley." For the next century, meatpackers and breweries, alongside the city's many churches, dominated much of the urban landscape of Covington.

Good, but not quite perfect. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. Enjoyable weekend read.

Finished it in a couple of days. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Would probably read it again at some point.

A very satisfying read. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. A solid 5/5 for me.
