Overview: In the cool, pre-dawn hours on a June night in 1918, a train engineer closed his cab window as he chugged toward Hammond, Indiana. He drifted to sleep, and his train bore down on the idle Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus Train. Soon after, the sleeping engineer’s locomotive plowed into the circus train. In the subsequent wreckage and blaze, more than two hundred circus performers were injured and eighty-six were killed, most of whom were interred in a mass grave in the Showmen’s Rest section of Chicago’s Woodlawn Cemetery. Not bad, but not my favorite. Some parts were interesting, while others were a bit of a slog to get through. It's fine if you have nothing else to read.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

I liked it for the most part. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. Not bad at all.

Such a great read. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Worth the time and money.

Finished it in a couple of days. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Will be looking for more from this author.
