Overview: Türkiye’de Özbek edebiyatı ne kadar tanınıyorsa Özbekistan’da da Türk edebiyatı o kadar tanınıyor diyebilirim. Daha önceki yıllarda Özbek yazar, şair, akademisyen, gazeteci, ressam dostlarım oldu. Onlarla da edebiyatlarımızın daha çok bilinmesi üzerine konuştuk. Bu fikrimi Özbekistan gezim sırasında da dile getirdim. Sayın İsajon Sulton 2014 yılın içinde Güncel Sanat Dergimizin 5. Öykü ve şiir yarışmasına katılarak uzak mesafeleri yakın edip bir ilke de imza atmış oldu. İrem Bağı adlı öyküsü yarışmaya geldiği zaman jüriye göndermeden önce iki kez okudum. Türkçesi çok sade, anlaşılır bir dil ve öyküye hakimiyet vardı. İlk düşüncem dilerim derece alır, oldu. Sonuç düşündüğüm gibi gerçekleşti ve derece aldı. Kendisini 28 Nisan 2015 tarihinde ödül töreninde gördüm. Net, anlaşılır bir Türkçe ile kısaca öyküsünden ve gelişinden söz etti. Mutluluğu gözlerinden okunuyordu. Sevinci sesine yansımıştı. Öyküde hakimiyet ve dilin kullanımı çok önemlidir. Bunu görebiliyoruz yazarın öykülerinde. İsajon bey öykülerini kitaplaştırma düşüncesini gündeme getirince diğer öyküleri nasıldır diye merak ettim. Kitaba girecek öyküleri gelince yeniden okuyarak bir değerlendirme yaptım. Sonuç bizim yayınevimizde bu kitap çıkabilir oldu. Tabi öyküleri Türkçe’ ye aktaranları da kutlamak gerekir. Özbekistan’daki yer adlar olmasa, kahramanların isimleri farklılıklar göstermese Anadolu’nun bir köyü, kasabası şehri diyebiliriz öykülerin geçtiği yerlere. Bu öykü kitabı, her iki ülkenin edebiyatçılarını birbirine daha da yaklaştıracaktır, buna inanıyorum ve bundan dolayı İsajon Sulton’u kutluyorum. Kitabı okuduktan sonra bana hak vereceğiniz fikrindeyim.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. Still a good book.

Finished it in a couple of days. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Glad I picked this up.
