Grazu, zmarł 26 V 1999 r. w Lans (Tyrol). Studiował prawo cywilne i kanoniczne w Wiedniu, następnie ekonomię i nauki polityczne w Budapeszcie, gdzie obronił doktorat, i ponownie teologię w Wiedniu. W 16 roku życia zaczął pisać do gazet m.in. do londyńskiego „Spectatora”. Kiedy miał 20 lat, został korespondentem jednego z węgierskich dzienników w bolszewickiej Rosji, gdzie spędził dwa lata. W 1935 r. przebywał w Anglii ucząc historii w jezuickim Beaumont College (Windsor). W 1937 r. ożenił się hrabiną Christiane Goess. W tym samym roku wyjechał do USA, gdzie wykładał w Georgetown University. Odwiedził Hiszpanię w trakcie wojny domowej. Po powrocie do USA kierował wydziałem historii w St. Peter´s College (Jersey City). Następnie wykładał na Fordham University i w Chestnut Hill College (Filadelfia). W 1947 r. powrócił do Austrii i zamieszkał w górskiej wiosce Lans. Poznawszy do 1955 r. wszystkie kraje europejskie, zaczął podróżować po innych kontynentach jako wolny pisarz, dziennikarz, wykładowca. Odwiedził ponad 100 krajów, niektóre kilkakrotnie, zbierając informacje, konwersując i dyskutując z „tubylcami”, w czym była mu pomocna znajomość języków: mówił płynnie ośmioma językami, znał biernie i potrafił się porozumieć jeszcze w jedenastu innych (m.in. znał język japoński, węgierski, hebrajski i polski). Współpracował z niemieckim wydawnictwem encyklopedycznym Brockhaus. Malował obrazy, od 1971 r. wystawiane w galeriach, fotografował, zbierał znaczki, uwielbiał podróżować autostopem. Pretty good overall. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. A solid 4 stars from me.
