Overview: Le Roman de la Rose de Jean Renart est une des œuvres les plus neuves et les plus complexes du Moyen Âge. Il substitue à l'Ouest arthurien l'Est impérial autour de l'empereur Conrad qui nous offre comme une synthèse des attributs des trois principaux personnages, le jongleur Jouglet, le chevalier Guillaume de Dole et sa sœur, la belle Liénor, en même temps qu'une réflexion sur la souveraineté, ses fondements et sa légitimité. It was okay. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. Might work better for someone else, just wasn't completely for me.
