Overview: Als die Gießener Ärztin Kristina Hänel am 3. August 2017 nach Hause kommt, erwartet sie ein Brief vom Amtsgericht. Nichtsahnend öffnet sie den Umschlag. »Strafverfahren gegen Sie wegen Werbens für den Abbruch einer Schwangerschaft …« Laut §219a StGB gilt die Sachinformation auf ihrer Homepage als Werbung und ist verboten, ein Umstand, den Abtreibungsgegner nutzen, um Mediziner*innen bundesweit anzuzeigen. Bislang unbemerkt von einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit. Dies ändert sich mit der »Causa Hänel«, als die Ärztin ihren Fall mit einer Petition öffentlich macht und mit Haut und Haar für die Aufklärung über §219a und seine Abschaffung eintritt.Als Galionsfigur der Kampagne für das Recht auf Information zum Schwangerschaftsabbruch wird Kristina Hänel große mediale Aufmerksamkeit zuteil, doch die Reduzierung auf den Begriff »Abtreibungsärztin« akzeptiert sie nicht. A very satisfying read. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Worth the time and money.
