Overview: «La prostitución. Perspectiva y propuestas libertarias» es el undécimo título de la colección Lmentales. Este trabajo de Elena Villarreal se acerca al candente debate, que estamos viviendo en estas últimas fechas, sobre la prostitución desde un prisma anarquista. Esperamos que sirva para enriquecer dichos debates aportando una serie de fundamentos básicos en el ideario del movimiento libertario:La prostitución es un fenómeno que, en determinados momentos históricos, ha provocado encendidos debates. Estamos viviendo uno de esos momentos. Podríamos decir que hay tres factores que influyen en la profundidad, extensión y virulencia de este debate. El primer factor estaría relacionado con cómo España, según todos los informes, triplica actualmente en consumo de prostitución a los países de su entorno geográfico y cultural. Otro aspecto sería el empuje, en los últimos años, del movimiento feminista en España que ha conseguido forzar la introducción de ciertas problemáticas en el centro del debate político. Por último, la naturaleza del debate es tal, que más parece un campo de batalla, que un debate en sí, por lo que se han multiplicado todo tipo de publicaciones, debates especializados, tertulias televisivas, etc., para posicionarse en esta batalla política.El debate es duro y, a menudo, profundo y complejo. La complejidad es tal que argumentos enfrentados son constantemente usados por feministas de parecidas o idénticas sensibilidades políticas.El movimiento anarquista, desde sus orígenes, ha considerado la prostitución un problema de primer orden. No obstante, los profundos cambios sociales y culturales del último siglo muestran nuevos matices y cambios sensibles en el debate sobre el mundo de la prostitución.
