Overview: Was tun bei sexualisierter Gewalt? verbindet Ansätze aus der zweiten Frauen*Lesbenbewegung in Deutschland und transformative Gerechtigkeitsansätze wie ›community accountability‹ (›kollektive Verantwortungsübernahme‹) aus Frauen*-, Queer- und trans* of Color-Kontexten in den USA. Es geht darum, Anleitungen für selbstorganisierte und gemeinschaftliche Prozesse anzubieten, die betroffene Personen unterstützen und gewaltausübende Personen zur Verantwortung ziehen. Das Handbuch fokussiert insbesondere Letzteres und schlägt eine Transformative Arbeit vor. Diese bietet Personen, die sexualisierte Gewalt ausgeübt haben, einen längerfristigen Reflexions- und Veränderungsprozess an. Der Prozess basiert auf Freiwilligkeit und muss von der gewaltausübenden Person selbst gewollt werden. Ziel ist es, die Perspektive der Betroffenen zu verstehen und zu achten, die eigene gesellschaftliche Positionierung und eigene Gewaltmuster zu reflektieren und das eigene Verhalten langfristig zu verändern. Es geht darum, alternative und weniger gewaltförmige Handlungsmöglichkeiten auf der persönlichen, zwischenmenschlichen und gesellschaftlichen Ebene zu entwickeln und umzusetzen. Damit dient Transformative Arbeit auch der Prävention.Eine Grundannahme der Transformativen Arbeit ist, dass Menschen nicht als Person ›böse‹ sind, auch wenn sie sexualisierte Gewalt ausüben, sondern die Handlung selbst strikt abzulehnen ist. Diese wird u.a. als ein Ausdruck von gewaltvollen Herrschaftsverhältnissen betrachtet, und es ist möglich, dieses Verhalten zu verlernen und Macht- und Gewaltverhältnisse damit zu durchbrechen. Solche Angebote der Transformativen Arbeit sind wichtig, damit gewaltausübende Personen die Chance zu einer solchen Veränderung haben und die Menschen im Umfeld sehen, dass (sexualisierte) Gewalt nicht einfach so geduldet wird. Zugleich stellt dieser Prozess oftmals für betroffene Personen eine Form der ›Wiedergutmachung‹ dar und es wird einem erneuten Übergriff entgegengewirkt.Das Buch enthält neben verschiedenen (theoretischen) Grundlagen, auf denen das Konzept der Transformativen Arbeit beruht, auch einen Leitfaden für die Umsetzung in der Praxis.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. Enjoyable weekend read.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Glad someone recommended this to me. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Will be looking for more from this author.
