Overview: L'originalité de l'essai de Jean-François Revel consiste à juger le roman de Proust en « lecture directe » et non pas à travers les idées esthétiques professées par l'auteur et reprises par ses commentateurs. La théorie bergsonienne de la « double mémoire », postulat philosophique de l'oeuvre, est, littérairement, son apport le plus faible. Quant à la célèbre « continuité proustienne », quant au sens aigu du déroulement temporel, ils n'existent pas. Le génie de Proust est non pas d'avoir révolutionné la forme du roman mais d'avoir inventé un roman sans forme, une nouvelle matière romanesque. Such a great read. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Would probably read it again at some point.

Such a great read. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. A solid 5/5 for me.

A very satisfying read. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
