Overview: A finales de la primavera de 1998, mi t�o Frank, arque�logo aficionado y amante de las historias sumerias, emprendi� un viaje a Irak, el motivo; adquirir algunas tablillas sobre los Anunakis, su pasi�n de a�os. Pero, para su sorpresa, termin� encontrando algo muy distinto. Al suroeste de Irak en la ciudad de Hit se encontr� con el extra�o vendedor de reliquias antiguas, era el mismo que hab�a contactado meses atr�s, y el mismo que le hab�a ofrecido un n�mero considerable de estas, y que hab�a comprado supuestamente a un granjero a las afueras de Mosul. Mi t�o, seg�n sus palabras, qued� impresionado al contemplar las 5 ollas de barro frente a �l de aproximadamente 62 cm cada una, con una decoraci�n que le recordaba a la antigua Babilonia. Pero, lo que conten�a en su interior lo dej� m�s: 203 tablillas circulares, en un lenguaje sem�tico acadio y algunas con escritura desconocida, eso si algo muy diferente a las sumerias.Meses despu�s, con ayuda de dos amigos conocedores del acadio antiguo viaj� de nuevo a Irak, y las transcribi� una a una a su diario, y qued� helado al saber su significado. Ya que se trataba de una historia que sucedi� antes de que existiera Sumeria, y la cual se registraba en la tablilla n�mero 4: "que los dioses bajaban a la tierra hace 286 mil lunas, antes que estuviera Sumeria, Tietro, Moppe y Ashuayabul".Estas eran copias evidentemente de un relato original, que los babilonios o acadios copiaron de alg�n lugar, incluso la tablilla n�mero 6 se lee "que las 7 mil circulares originales se encuentran descansando en la tumba de la esposa del gran rey Ashurbarnipal".Parte de la saga que contar� fue tomada de la historia de las tablillas n�mero 1 al 203 que mi t�o relata en su diario, sobre la vida humana de Isha; un semidi�s que vivi� hace 207 mil lunas, procreado por los mismos dioses, sus guerras contra los demonios, la rebeli�n de los dioses, sus enemigos, su transformaci�n y su incre�ble final. Tal vez, entre mitolog�a antigua se asome algo de verdad.Antes de morir mi t�o Frank, en el invierno de 2000, le dej� algunas cosas a mam�, entre ellas su peculiar diario, diario que no se ley� durante 17 a�os, tal vez porque era un ni�o y no me interesaba hurgar sus cosas. Algo peculiar, es que no hay menci�n del paradero de tales tablillas, ni con quien las confi�..., todo al parecer se llev� a cabo en un absoluto hermetismo.Lo que si menciona es que si el mundo conoce el significado completo de las tablillas; todo se derrumbar�a, es decir, todo lo que sabemos de nuestra civilizaci�n ser�a reescrita.Al parecer la arqueolog�a oficial no supo o escondi� tal hallazgo.

Finished it in a couple of days. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Will be looking for more from this author.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Would probably read it again at some point.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
