Overview: Ferdynand Hoesick, pisarz, historyk literatury, muzykograf i wydawca. Wzrastał w atmosferze muzykowania, od 1884 studiował na politechnice w Rydze i Heidelbergu, w latach 1888-1890 na UJ (historię literatury), przyjaźnił sie z Tetmajerem i Żeleńskim, który udzielał mu lekcji muzyki. Uzupełniał studia na Sorbonie i w Collège de France (1890/91). Działalność literacką rozpoczął publikacjami na temat Słowackiego, Krasińskiego i Chopina (F. Chopin. Zarys biograficzny, Petersburg 1899). Od 1900 zajął się prowadzeniem księgarni, wydał 3 odnalezione kompozycje Chopina: Mazurek (2. wersja op. 7 nr 2), Walc Es-dur i As-dur, także transkrypcje utworów Chopina, zbiór Koncert w salonie na fortepian. Od 1905 r. działał w Krakowie i poświęcił się studiom nad wielkimi postaciami polskiej literatury. Księgarnię wydzierżawił, ale działała pod szyldem założyciela, ojca Hoesicka, do czerwca 1940 roku.W latach 1910-1911 wydał nakładem własnej księgarni obszerną 3-tomową monografię o Chopinie: Chopin. Życie i droga twórcza.

A solid read. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. A solid 4 stars from me.

Really enjoyed this one. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. A solid 5/5 for me.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.

Such a great read. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
