Overview: Ce premier volume de Textes constitue par lui-même une introduction générale à la théorie durkheimienne. Réunis en trois Chapitres, ces écrits – dont plusieurs paraissent pour la première fois en langue française – font le point, d’abord, sur la définition objectiviste du règne social et de ses domaines, ce qui, en son temps, heurta violemment les écoles de pensée établies. Le premier Chapitre comprend donc les actes des débats avec Tarde, Simmel, les bergsoniens ainsi que les principaux travaux sur l’état contemporain et l’évolution historique des sciences sociales. Le second s’organise autour de la conception durkheimienne de la sociologie comme discipline de synthèse : la confrontation avec les tenants de l’histoire événementielle ou les économistes classiques démontre l’ampleur de la révolution intellectuelle que représente, face aux disciplines traditionnelles, la mise en œuvre du point de vue sociologique. It was just alright. The writing was fine, but I didn't feel very connected to the characters. They felt a bit flat. Just right down the middle.

Really enjoyed this one. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. A solid 5/5 for me.
