Overview: Die Arbeit am Prometheus war selbst für einen wichtigen Medizinverlag wie Thieme ein kleines Abenteuer. Doch man kann sagen: Das Wagnis hat sich gelohnt. Das neuartige Konzept des "LernAtlas", angelegt als Kombination aus Lehrbuch und Atlas, geht auf! Ganze acht Jahre nahm allein die Erstellung der für den Atlas neu angefertigten Zeichnungen in Anspruch. Das Konzept des Werkes wurde aus den Ergebnissen von Umfragen entwickelt, die unter Studierenden und Dozenten durchgeführt wurden. Zentrale Anliegen des "Prometheus-Teams" sind es, den Lernenden die Konzentration auf die wesentlichen Inhalte zu ermöglichen und sie gleichzeitig -- der neuen Approbationsordnung entsprechend -- fächerübergreifend und mit einer engen Verzahnung von Vorklinik und Klinik "ins Bild zu setzen". Jede der etwa 250 Lerneinheiten konzentriert sich auf ein Thema, dem jeweils eine Doppelseite gewidmet wird. Dabei funktioniert das Zusammenspiel von Bild und Text ausgezeichnet. Die Themen sind den vier großen Abschnitten "Allgemeine Anatomie", "Rumpfwand", "Obere Extremität" und "Untere Extremität" zugeordnet. Mehr als 1.200 Farbabbildungen sorgen dafür, dass Gefäße und Nerven ebenso Gestalt gewinnen wie Knochen, Gelenke oder Muskeln. Hierbei ergänzen sich Zeichnungen und Ergebnisse bildgebender Verfahren. Der Überprüfung und Festigung des Gelernten dienen zusammenfassende Lerntabellen. I liked it for the most part. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. Still a good book.

I was pleasantly surprised. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Not bad, but not my favorite. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.

Finished it in a couple of days. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Glad I picked this up.
